Fitment:
- 2014-2024 Ram 2500 rear suspension
Details:
- Must purchase our rear shocks to be used with this kit.
- If not listed as a Dual-Rate coil, it is Single-Rate.
Dual-Rate Coils info: Our Dual-Rate coils were originally conceived for our soon to be released Rear 2014-2024 Ram 2500/PW Predator Long-Travel suspension system, as our Single-Rate coils were just too short to allow full travel.
Once we got these coils in for testing and on some trucks, we quickly realized these will most likely be our top seller rear coils, as they ride great AND handle weight really well.
Our Dual-Rate coils do ride better than the Stock OEM coils, but they do not ride quite as good down the highway as our single rate coils. Reason being, even with an unloaded truck, at normal ride height they are sitting firmly on the stiffer(250lb/inch) spring rate.
This is why they handle weight so much better than our Single Rate coils. The trick was adding the softer zone to the coil, to allow the coil to extend more providing up to 15" of suspension travel, but this softer zone does not activate until the axle moves away from the chassis.
With weight added to the bed our Dual-Rate coils will sag a little more than the stock coils, so expect about 1/2" more sag with 800lbs in the bed, compared to the stock OEM coils. As with any coils, even the OEM stiff rear coils, if you load or tow REALLY heavy you will need Airbags or something similar.
With our Dual-Rate coils installed on an unloaded Quad-Cab truck expect about a 1/2" lift over stock height, and with the heavier Mega-Cab, the ride height will be about the same as stock. If you have a much lighter Standard-Cab truck,(though not tested yet)you may end up with 1.5" lift over stock height.
Single-Rate Coils info: Our Single-Rate rear coils are much softer than the OEM rear coils, providing a ride more like a 1/2 ton truck. If you're rarely loading the truck bed, or only rarely towing moderate weight for short distances, the rear end will sag a few inches with our standard Single-Rate coils, and air-bags are not really needed. If loading very heavy, plan on Airbags or a similar load support system added.
With our Single-Rate coils being so soft, weight added to the rear of the truck will exaggerate the lowering effect. So, if you have 500lbs added to the bed with your stock coils, that 1/2" of sag will be about 1" of sag with our Single-Rate coils.
Mega Cab and Single Cab trucks are not as common as the Quad Cab we designed these coils around, so keep in mid the Mega Cab is about 700lbs heavier than the Quad Cab, and the Single Cab is about 700lbs lighter, so subtract/add about 1/2" to 1" of height if you have one of those trucks. Final lift heights are not guaranteed.
