Sometimes you just need more room to fit larger tires. Instead of buying new wheels with a different offset you can add a set of wheel spacers. Depending on the tire size you want and the overall look you want you can add spacers to just the front, all 4 wheels, or stagger different sizes front and back to correct track width after doing a level kit on an independent front suspension truck which causes the front wheels to be sucked inward.
If you want to run your stock wheels with a 2.5" level kit on your f-150 you will probably need a set of spacers in the front. The size of spacer needed will depend on how wide your tires are. We have found a 1.25" spacer brings the wheel back out to the stock location and a 1.5" spacer will start getting your wheels out wider than stock. When using a 1.25" or 1.5" wheel spacer in front with a 2.5" level kit we like to use a 1/4" spacer in the rear to get the wheels in line and outside of the tires even with the fender lip.
