Make heavy loads more controlled with our Boogie Bump LCS (Load Control System). Easy tool-less quick change between full travel Boogie Mode with our standard shorter Boogie Bumps, and then back to heavy load Work-Mode, with the longer Boogie Bump Load Control (LC). Our Boogie Bump LC is very active with weight on them. So active that often while loaded you might feel like you still have full suspension travel.
Weight Capacity - The weight capacity, or weight rating, of the Boogie Bump LC is not the primary detail we want you to focus on. Although the Boogie Bump LC system can easily handle the truck's full legal weight capacity and beyond, it's more important for you to choose the product that best suits your specific needs.
If you are going to load full capacity weight for long periods of time, say something like a 3000lb+ Slide In Camper that stays on for months at a time, high capacity airbags would be a better product for you. The goal of the Boogie Bump LC is to help reduce sag when weighted very heavy, but with the thought that your truck is unloaded more than it is loaded, so quickly getting back to full travel and a great unloaded ride takes priority when choosing a load control product to purchase.
Do you have soft long travel leafs and you put a 2000lb slide in camper on for a few weekends a year, then taking it off and daily driving unloaded the other 350+ days a year? Frequent loading a couple dirt bikes and gear for weekends, hunting, dump runs, firewood loads, camping, etc, with 1000lbs in the bed, then daily drive the truck unloaded the other 90% of the time? If those situations apply to you, our Boogie Bump LCS would be a great fit!
Suspension Sag with Weight - Actual sag measurement with weight will always vary a bit truck to truck. Unlike airbags that you can adjust sag with air pressure, which is their best feature, our Boogie Bump LC will keep compressing more with more weight added.
Most customers considering this product will have our Long Travel Leaf springs installed, and with about 2000 pounds weight in the truck bed with our LT Leafs, plan on about 1.5" of sag drop below ride height. Without the Boogie Bump LC installed that sag would be about 4.5" with the same leafs and weight. The unloaded air-gap between the Boogie Bump LC, and the axle, will play a part here also.
Advanced Materials - If you are familiar with our standard Boogie Bumps, you know that these are not just basic stiff rubber bump stops. Check the short video to watch them move. These are very active Urethane Foam bump stops which function as an important part of the suspension system.
Think of a much more firm Memory Foam. Our new longer Boogie Bump Load Control (LC) is the same material as our shorter Boogie Bumps but about 25% more dense, to help handle constant heavy load, while retaining memory.
** In order to measure to see which height version you need, measure from your frame where the bump-stop mounts to, straight down to the top of the axle tube. See the illustrated photo.
The most common option is to choose the the Boogie Bump LCS height that is just under, but the closest to that measurement. That said, it is totally fine if you choose an LCS height option that is just OVER that measurement, but you will need to lift the rear of the truck a bit to remove or install the longer LC bumps.
